Dancing is my Passion
I started dancing ballet when I was 5 years old in Italy. At 10 years old I auditioned for La Scala (equivalent
of Juilliard in NY), and I was accepted. I rejected the offer due to a major move with my family to Costa
Rica. There, it was very hard to find a dancing school with strict discipline like I was used to.
At the age of 16 years old, I finally found the best teachers I could find, a Russian couple retired from the
Bolchvique Ballet, but by then my interest in dancing was very low, I thought dancing wasn't for me, so I just
kept doing it for the exercise.
What I really loved was to be on Stage and I realized that what I needed and wanted was something more
upbeat, so I tried modern dancing , although that didn't get my attention much, so I went back to Ballet.
At 21 years old I moved to the USA, New Mexico, to start my studying in Theatre. There I tried jazz and hip
hop, that was it!! The beat was right and I got my dancing passion back to life. I choreographed the musical
Black Patent Leather Shoes to a great success and the dinner theatre "The Boer's Head Feast" for two years
consecutive. The First year I used my Ballet skills there I was introduced to Tribal Belly Dancing. With what I
knew in dancing and the help of the beautiful Nadja from Cat's Eye Dancers, I learned the art of Belly
Dancing and Loved it!!
For 4 years I focused myself on that style of dancing and performed with the Cat's eye Dancers at the
Children's Museum, Oktober Fest, some Birthday parties and our biggest event of the year the Renaissance
Fair. Although I'm not mentioning the countless dance offs we have done as family and friends with the SCA
(Society of Creative Anachronism) or just plain for fun!
In 2005 I moved to Washington State with my kids for a change of weather and gave up the idea of dancing
again.
After one year I decided to start looking again, I love performing and Dance is what I do best. Acting was still
on the list but dance was a priority. I was told to try Jeweled Scarab Co. I met with them and they took me
in their classes and taught me Cabaret Fusion. A lot different of what I was used to. I started performing with
the Student Troupe Diamonds in the Rough and patiently I was waiting for me to be ready to do more. In
2007 I was asked to do a solo and audition for their Company Group in front of a live public. That was my
first real solo. I've performed and enjoyed every second of it.
I am now proud to say that I am part of Jeweled Scarab Dance Company. We are not just dancers, we are
friends!
